fraternity rushing
by: LA Guy
hey everyone:
I'm planing going thru fraternity rush this fall as a freshman, but I'm from Los Angeles and have NO CONNECTION with greek life on campus (Both mom and dad were Greek, but they are upper midwesterners). Does anyone have any special advice advice on how to handle this situation, or do i simply wing it and hope that it works out ?
thanks !

A lot of fraternity rush events take place during the summer and a lot of fraternities know who’s going to be in their next fall pledge class before school even starts. So having connections is almost essential. A few guys got into my fraternity exclusively through formal rush but that was like 2 out of 50+. Most fraternities have events going on during freshman welcome week so if you could make connections in that first week that would help out a lot.

Does being from Los Angeles really work in my favor ?
