rush at the u of a

by: Active

Several houses are no longer as influential as they once were, and they can blame that on their own alumnae groups for not embracing change and understanding how much larger the pnm groups have become. The increase in size and diversity at Arkansas should be a positive thing instead it has made the rush process unbearable for many in house girls. They have large alumnae groups trying to control the rush process based on an outdated and cliquey claim to exclusivity. Quite honestly it's just flat out embarrassing.

That's how it's always been with top houses. Nothing new about that. Unfortunately it just makes pnms want them even more.

It's a little disturbing that women in their forties and fifties are overly concerned with 18 year olds and their peer groups. Times have changed and women actually go to college to get a degree. They should be able to freely choose their own peer group, don't you think?

Those same women send their daughters to school to find husbands. They probably are unaware that women can vote now. lol

ChiO alums are known for controlling their recruitments. Look at Ole Miss. Because of their crazy alums they only want chapter legacies and it's hurt their chapter rep.

I don't see anything wrong with wanting to be in the same sorority as my sister or mom or other family. So many more girls are going greek that means more chapter legacies. It doesn't mean I don't have an opinion or don't know I can vote. That's just dumb.

I love being a legacy. East Arkansas alum towns might be small but they are awesome. Hoodie Hoot! Bring on rush 2018.

Hey Womens rights just don't pledge a house like that. They don't want you with that attitude.

This is true. They do not want anyone who isn't narrow minded and shallow.

Top houses will always be influential. Don't see that changing anytime soon as long as they keep taking only a select few girls.
