This is why all these posts stress to pnms about how important your gpa is. Also, the gpa rank usually falls in line with how the house is ranked overall.

THIS.IS.WHY.YOUR.GPA.MATTERS. All you pnms will be crying after the first day because your favorite (meaning top) houses cut you and you don't know why. YOU.WILL.BE.CUT.BELOW.A.3.4.FIRST.DAY.BY.TOP.HOUSES. Please be aware of this before recruitment. It's like recs. You either have it or you don't!

My house is borderline obsessed with grades and there is always a friendly rivalry with other top houses. The only exceptions I've ever seen were for a pnm with an in house sister on exec and one whose mom was a very very influential chapter alum. Even then the gpas were like 3.35.

Sororities are very competitive for grades. So if your grades aren't good be prepared for HEAVY cuts.

Senior year is not over. Start begging your teachers for extra work or anything you can do to bump up your gpa.

So how is my 3.3 from honors classes at a prestigious private school less desirable than someone with a 4.0 from some no name public school in the middle of nowhere?

Your snobby attitude will probably get you cut before you 3.3 gpa.

I have a 3.2 maybe 3.3 but am not focused on being in a top house. Is it just the top houses that make cuts at 3.4? What about the middle tier houses? I have high SAT and and in several activities. I think I'm cute and can have a fun conversation. I don't have any strong connections other than casually knowing some girls. The Panhellenic page said 2.5 or 2.6 so I thought I was ok until I saw this site and now I'm worried.

don't let this site get to you. grades are only part of what houses look at. they're looking for new girls to call sisters, not people to use for GPAs. if they only want you for your grades you're probably rushing the wrong house anyways

Do they use your weighted GPA or Unweighted GPA? Or do they use what the university gave you for admittance/scholarships?
