Greek life at the U of A is very competitive, one of the best Greek schools in the nation. To get into ANY house at the U of A is great! Don't limit yourself, go through recruitment with an open mind and if you get a bid from ANY HOUSE, take it...you will be glad you did!! There are great girls at EVERY house and not so great girls at EVERY house. Find a house that wants you as a sister and you will have found your sorority.

It doesn’t matter what your past was when it comes to rush, especially if you’re out of state. Money doesn’t matter either, because if you’re out of state we won’t know that about you. Rushing without connections is doable, but I highly encourage you to keep an open mind because all the houses are amazing. I will say “top houses” are a matter of opinion and that they ALL put high priority on grades, at least the houses you mentioned. Also the kind of attitude you seem to have on your post won’t get you very far in rush, sorry. Don’t make any judgements until you actually meet girls in the houses.

You will have zero chance of getting a top house being from oos with zero connections and a low gpa. If being in a top house is that important to you, then I'd pick a school that doesn't have such a competitive greek system.

u will not get in kappa without being rushed by someone, which means you need a very good in-house connection. I know many great legacies who got cut from kappa just because they didn't have connections.
