didn't get a bid from dg
by: NervousSo I didn't get at bid from Delta Gamma in the fall. I was not invited back to pref night. I will be a sophomore this fall. I am acquantances with a couple of them that lived in my hall, but I wouldn't say friends with them. Would it be weird to go through formal rush? Will DG remember me as the girl they didn't bid? My grades have really improved since then. I will keep an open mind but I am worried that they will not be on my schedule after the open house round. I know all of the sororities are great, but the DG thing stings a little and I don't want to feel rejected again.

With DG, just remember they had to take a mix of girls based on class year (they had to have a mix of freshmen, sophomores, some juniors and some seniors) so that they would have gradual turn-over with graduations. From what I understand, there was probably more competition among freshmen for a bid (complete opposite of normal recruitment).
If you have a good college GPA as a soph, you stand a good chance with some of the houses. Don't stress just because of your concerns with DG. Just be yourself when you go through DG Open House, and don't be uptight or feel you have to prove anything. Like everyone keeps telling you, keep an open mind.

There is almost no way to go thru Rush and not feel rejected. Even the most confident women will feel rejected and it is definitely the rare exception PNM who gets back a full card every single day. Almost everyone will not be invited back to a few houses. Not a reflection on you. It is just numbers sometimes.
