how worried should a mom be? (frat)

by: BlastyBlast

I was in a sorority in college, so I'm not blind and stupid to anything that goes on. Times have changed though. If you were a mom (or dad), how worried should you be about your son being involved in Greek Life at UofA? Said son is an athlete, GPA 4.0, good-looking, academically ambitious, witty, loves kittens and puppies, and sometimes has to be knocked down a few pegs by his mom for being too full of himself. If you didn't want to watch your son fall down a rabbit hole from afar, turn into a d-bag, or lose focus on the big prize, which frat(s) should be avoided? Which ones know how to balance it all the best and provide good mentoring from decent men?

With that criteria for your son avoid Kappa Sig and SAE and look into Kappa Alpha and Lambda Chi but doubt it will be up to you, Mom.

I don't understand the 73 "thumbs down" - seems like a good question to me.

I think 73 people think the OP is a troll for a specific frat.

Thanks - no, not a troll. Just a mom in Springfield, MO. Yes, he'll make the decision for himself and I do trust him. I'm just a big ball of anxiety and want to have some research under my belt. Unfortunately the reviews on here are so all over the place it's hard to find consistency. I can tell there are trolls pushing some frats just as there are some downvoting on purpose. I appreciate the feedback and I think I'll just have to "let it go." :)
