how many active seniors are there in the houses?
by: future pnmHow many active senior girls are there in each house? If you start out with 115 pledges and end up with about 40 seniors that's a good sign it's not a good house as far as sisterhood goes. Obviously by the strict grade requirements you have very few that drop out of school all together. Which houses have more than half their pledge class still active senior year?

If we are being completely honest on here if these are your expectations you might not want to go through recruitment. The houses that I know really well do not have 50 to 60 active seniors. So to answer your question there aren't that many active seniors. The junior class is a little larger than seniors but after rush/bid day the jr class tends to dwindle down considerably. Hope this helps and that I've answered your question. I guess no one really wanted to come out and say it. Probably why your question had not been answered.

The phenom is not new and occurs everywhere. A different campus with a NM class of 20 ends up with 7 by senior year. The similar percentage is gone when you take an Arkansas NM group of 120 and make it 45 by senior year. It just seems like a larger problem because the Arkansas numbers are bigger. Don't sweat the numbers, it happens all the time and all over the country.
#7by: not so fast
The fall 2016 pledge classes ranged from 118 to 165ish. However, I agree that the activity of members decreases as they approach graduation. Other things like finding internships, finding jobs, taking MCAT, LSAT, etc. start to have more priority - and that is probably the way it should be. It gives younger women the opportunity to take on some leadership positions.
#8by: difference
There is a big difference between dropping and going inactive or alum.
Dropping means you are saying you don't want to be a part of this group anymore. Dropping means you can never come back to this national organization.
Going inactive or alum (before you graduate) means that you can not handle the activity required of the sorority right now. Some people go inactive and return when circumstances change. Alum speaks for itself.
#9by: True Sisterhood
True sisterhood and true friendship means supporting your sisters as they go alum to pursue international opportunities, career opportunities, and life opportunities. For example, many women leave Arkansas to go to various medical programs. I much rather my best friend go alum in order to pursue her Physical Therapy career at another school, than to force her to put her life on hold to stay at Arkansas until Senior year because of "sisterhood" aka so our numbers look good for some PNMs who CLEARLY haven't learned anything about true sisterhood yet.
