Participation in recruitment as a pnm should be a one-time thing here. Might you be willing to forego a freshman recruitment and wait until sophomore year, after you have made campus friends, joined and participated in another type of campus group and swung thru the educational window we offer? Your gpa and social life may thank you.

A GPA is a red flag towards your character? One might think an arrest would be more of a red flag. A GPA of 3.4 does not define character and it's this type of thinking that gives Greek life a bad name. I don't know how someone making that statement has the nerve to question anyone's intelligence or character.

1600 plus girls went thru rush last year. Something like 95% of them pledged. They were not all superstars with the highest GPA and 3 pages resumes of activities and service projects. Be yourself, go through rush, have an open mind. You will find your people.

You are over-thinking this. Go through rush. You could have never made a B in your life and still not get into the group you want. Or, you could have a 3.0 and get into the place you really want. Sometimes there is just no explanation for how things end up, but with a positive outlook it can be the best experience.

I guess they mean you party and don't study so the gpa is lower. A low gpa might indicate poor study habits, or a learning disability, but I believe most schools have inflated grades so gpas arent all that low anyway and a ton of kids make the deans and honor rolls every semester.
