so what is the story with delta gamma?

by: interestedGDI

Hey everyone, I have never considered joining a sorority before because I never connected with the overall "Greek life" thing. DG is re-establishing itself here at UARK and I was wondering what kinds of people will be joining, or if I would have enough time to commit to it. I am involved in leadership opportunities around campus and am an honors student. I'm not sure if I would fit in with the group of girls or even have enough time to do it. Any thoughts?

I know a lot of girls that were DG legacies that waited to rush DG because they wanted to be a part of their mom/grandmother's sorority. They got some great girls!

Did you join? I was too nervous to go to their rush events and now I really regret not joining when I had the chance

They'll probably do a fairly large COB during second semester. Just go sign up for COB at the panhellenic office.

We are all assuming that you did not get a bid from them?

Comments like this are so disheartening. It is sad that you feel this threatened by a sorority that has only been here for less than one semester. I think I speak for 99.9% of the Greek community when I say that we are all rooting for Delta Gamma's success

Is Delta Gamma taking a spring class for sure? Have they decided?

I doubt they'll make any decision until after initiation and installation. But normally a new chapter will. It gives them a chance to practice a little for formal recruitment.

Do I have a chance of joining DG if I'm black? Are they more accepting because theyre new?

By: question?

Absolutely! Race does NOT limit anyone's ability to join Delta Gamma (or shouldn't for any sorority for that matter!!) DG is recognized as the most diverse sorority on campus so I think you should try them out for sure. Above all, they seem very service and sister oriented so I encourage you to go for it!

Just because DG is new doesn't mean they will take just anyone. They have standards when it comes to grades and involvement!
