transfer question

by: 2019

I'm going to be transferring to UARK Spring 2017, is open recruitment a thing here? Do houses accept girls after formal recruitment? (I will be a sophomore this year)

Houses that don't make quota during rush or ones that have fewer than a certain number of members (the number is set by Panhellenic each year) are able to extend bids outside of fall formal recruitment. This is called Continuous Open Bidding (COB).

When you get to campus next spring, you can contact the Greek Life office to have your name given to any houses that are eligible for COB. There is no guarantee any houses will be doing it though. Usually if there are just 1-2 spots open because of girls graduating early, those spots go to friends of active members. If there are more spots open, then the chapter will have some invitation only informal rush events before extending bids.

I transferred but went to formal rush. Open bids do happen in the spring but it is very hush hush. If you want to be considered for spring YOU need to reach out to the chapters or have like your absolute BFFFFFFFLLLLL ride or die day one homie OG be in the house you want.
