importance of legacies?
by: QQHow seriously do the sororities at U of A take Legacies? Are they viewed more highly in some houses than in others? I hear at some schools it really doesn't matter and at others, if you're a Legacy you really do have a better chance on getting a bid. How does it work at U of A?

It really depends. Some houses like XO and KKG will have more legacies going through rush than there are spots in the pledge class. In chapters like that, the majority of legacies will get cut.
Other houses have fewer legacies and will place more importance on pledging a high percentage of their legacies.
"High profile" legacies will have an easier time. These are legacies with sitting sisters on campus, moms who are national officers, or a direct descendent of the sorority's founders. If your legacy is from your grandma who pledged in college and then never did anything with her sorority ever again, don't count on getting any preferential treatment beyond the bare minimum.
It's helpful to know your legacy chapters' policies, ie, does being a legacy mean you just get a courtesy invite back for the 2nd round, or will you be ok their first bid list if you make it to pref.
