fall recruitment
by: ShyPNMI'm shy and really nervous about the recruitment process. I've heard you need someone in the house pulling for you in order to get a bid and I don't really know anyone in any of the sororities that well. I' think I could be happy in any of the houses, just worried because I don't have any connections . My GPA isn't that strong either @ a 3.3 . I'd appreciate any advice

You may not think you know anyone in sororities.... but we know you. Have any girls from your high school or hometown pledged? If so, they might provide what they know about you. If not, you'll be considered solely on your conversations in the houses. Also, don't worry about your GPA.

Good advice above!
Since you know you're shy, I'd work extra hard this summer on being friendly and outgoing to everyone you come across, even strangers. Practice small talk! The more comfortable you get making conversation with complete strangers, the easier rush will go for you and the more confident you'll be.

Thank you for responding. I think a few older girls may be in sororities there but I don't really know them well. I can see so many benefits and positive aspects of Greek life and want to be a part of it!
