didn't get any of my tops

by: PNM

So I had been told by my rho gam that the first round was pretty much decided by gpa and due to some things back in high school my GPA wasn't the best so in this round I haven't advanced with any of my top sororities. Is it still worth going to the others and giving them a chance still?

PNM2 - Please do not make comments on a topic that you are clearly ignorant about. I have been an Alumna for over 30 years and have lived in ten different cities since graduation. ALL of the NPC sororities are GREAT! They ALL have strong Nationals and as an Alumna of ANY of them you will be able to make friends in new cities and network. Don't be an idiot.

There is no such thing as a bottom house for life. Every one of the NPC sororities are awesome or they wouldn't still be around! Maybe you should do some soul searching and see if sorority life is really for you. You seem to only care about image and that will not get no where in life. The process may seem harsh and unfair but if you are meant to be in any of the outstanding chapters at ASU you will. I just so happen to be an alumna of over 30 years and my daughter joined the sisterhood and it was the best decision she has made in her college career. The sorority has taught her leadership, confidence, and poise. If this is what you want for yourself please give every chapter a chance, you will not regret it๐Ÿ˜€

Might as well experience the other houses to get a feel for them. You dont have to settle for one just to be apart of it but dont be like the person that just commented about bottom houses. Have an open mind and find the best fit of girls

Lmao, I guess this must be a common problem at a dumpy school like asu where kids with 2.0 GPA's get accepted! Anyway, good luck with the rest of your recruitment. Being in a mid or bottom house isn't so bad.

go home KDbruin this is the 3rd pac12 greekrank you've commented on.. there's a reason KD is bottom tier at UCLA. Do less.

Maybe this is a sign for you. It's not about getting into a top house at recruitment, it's about finding a place where YOU feel you fit in and which houses want you.
Brush it off and check out the other houses!

What if I join a house that maybe isn't really for me because I was cut from everything else just because of numbers?

well KDbruin, I have been in AP classes all throughout high school but apparently its better to get straight A's in regular classes then C's in AP courses.

Well, you obviously weren't in AP English because your command of grammar and sentence structure is insufferable, and you weren't in AP Math because that's not the way high school weighted GPAs are calculated with AP classes. Wow, you really deserve to be among the underachievers at asu. Getting into a bottom house seems all the more fitting, doesn't it?

Your Rho gam may or may not be right. Every house has a different selection process and it is all mutual. Just because you didn't get your top 3 doesn't mean you shouldn't give any of the other houses the time of day. You already paid the recruitment fee so you might as well go through.

Also you don't have to accept the bid at the end. Just go along with the process and it will all work out.

What if I got dropped by ALL of my tops and are only left with the ones I dropped?

honestly recruitment is such a forced way of meeting people that the 45 minutes you spent talking to your top choices may have made you feel like they were a great fit for you, but in reality they aren't. The girls in the house know the reality of the personality of the house and whether or not you'll be truly happy there and that's what they want for you! If they don't think that it's your home they are going to let you go so you can find it! So go find your home!

All the houses are good and if that is where you end up that is where you belong. You might not be top tier material and that is okay.
