In the actual Greek league, no. They can join any of the intramural leagues that aren't run by IFC. As for philos, I'm pretty sure they can participate as well. We saw Sig Chi and TKE send out volleyball teams for Pi Phis Arrow Spike philo. I'm sure they'll each have football teams for DZ Dukeout next semester and a Dodgeball team for Theta as well. Hope that answers your question

TKE, Sig Chi, Alpha Theta Chi, and SAE were all in Arrowspike. You just can't register under your actual fraternity name.

those were the first philos of the year. Panhellenic has cracked down to start fining the chapters who allow those organizations to participate nomatter what the name

Rushing one of these "frats" is social suicide.
(1) Girls in sororities will avoid you because they are not allowed to associate with these houses - if you don't believe, just ask a sorority girl
(2) Your are not insured - if something happens you are personally liable. If you are paying dues to an off campus frat, they are getting drunk on your dime buddy.
(3) Other chapters of your frat will not respect you - you will not be recognized in job interviews etc.
(4) Your initiations will be shams - you will not be fully initiated
(5) Your alumni will not respect you or consider you a brother

100% true. last spring i pledged an off campus house with some buddies. Got hazed, wasted money on d-bags who lied when we were rushing, dropped and just got initiated into a better house. Off-campus is not greek life.

IFC passed a motion saying that they wouldn't participate in any Philo with unregistered fraternities. Don't know if it's actually a realistic move, but it happened...
