spring recruitment?

by: Sophomore

I've been wanting to go Greek pretty much since second semester of my freshman year, and I never did. Now I decided I REALLLLY want to do it, but I'm currently a sophomore. Are any sororities doing spring recruitment? Should I just wait until fall or will it be too late for me by then? (I'll be a junior). Advice please!

As a junior a lot of sororities will drop you just based on that, but you will still have a great bunch of sororities who will call you back. You have to work a bit harder though just because of your grade level.

In the spring it'll be easier since you're a sophomore, but not all sororities do spring recruitment and they usually do it at different times throughout the semester, so you won't even be able to see them all. If you have any friends in sororities who are doing spring recruitment (which they will most likely know once it gets closer to next semester) maybe check their sorority out. Keep in mind that if you do check a sorority or two out in the spring you will not be able to go through recruitment until another calendar year, so you would miss next fall.

She doesn't have to wait a year to go through recruitment if she attends any COB/spring parties or events. You're misinformed. If she signed a COB MRABA (bid card), joined, and dropped out before being initiated, she'd have to wait until the next formal recruitment period - which is Fall. It's written right on the COB MRABA which is slightly different than the formal recruitment MRABA. You might want to check your facts before you put misinformation on the Internet.

As long as you don't sign a bid card you will be fine going through spring recruitment. I'm not sure who will be doing it though? The PC's were so big in the fall I think all but 3 Chapters are way above total. So lot of women are successful going through as juniors.

"Lot of women are successful going through as Juniors." My house drops Juniors the first day regardless of GPA or anything. We barely even take Sophomores. I would suggest Spring if you really want to be in a sorority.
