Do most of the fraternities take sophomores as pledges?

usually. don't feel like you should not rush because you are a sophomore. If you do not get a bid from a fraternity it won't be because you are a sophomore.

Wrong, top houses look for the freshmen but will take a select number of olders guys. the lower tier you go the easier it is to 1) get a bid 2) get picked as an older student, good luck pledge.

As long as you fit what the houses are looking for it really doesnt matter too much

Sophmore not a lot but some good ones. Mainly top houses look for all freshmen so they can grow the house and obviously collect dues money for four years. But sophmore is not a bad idea, just like i said top houses are harder. The post above talks about it as well. The lower tier ones you would have no problem getting a bid as an older guy.

I would beg to not disagree with these post. Top tier most likely only takes freshmen with a select amount of outstanding upperclassmen very compettive. Lower you go the more that flys out the window. Their is a place for everyone in greek life. Just depends if your willing to take a bid from not a top house. Rush Wisely boys. Welcome to the good life.

It all depends on the recruitment chair and pledge master. Most chapters definitely want mostly younger guys because it works better financially, it is also sometimes weird to have pledges older than a lot of the actives. We do however look for 1 or 2 older guys (Junior or Senior) in each class to add some diversity and bring a more mature attitude to the class rather than all freshmen.
