respect and a new alternative
by: the owl
Im in a fraternity as nearly all of the other guys that browse this site are. What most are failing to realize is that you may claim you are "top house" but there is one thing you are lacking: respect. Im from the old school, and I can tell you that back on the row, the good houses were respected and respected others. Houses like Sigma Nu had their problems, but at the end of the day they were sick fraternities and respected others. Today you see posers and remnant houses like Deke and alpha sig that don't respect anybody yet are such tryhards and in your face about how cool they are that literally every single house on campus hates them and wants to see them fail. I would take old school teke any day over sigma pi/deke. This is such a bad culture, and its like ASU wants to see us turn on each other, when really the true enemy is the administration. If you guys are serious I propose a non-affiliated with ASU inter fraternity council. We handle every case and controversy ourselves and essentially boycott anything greek affiliated with the school, and get our alumni to do the same. The results of this are a win/win situation.
In the comments please post a response to this idea. Undoubtedly there will be butthurt deke fvgs who insist that dke sigma chi and theta chi are top houses etc., but we need to view this in the aggregate and see that the system now is not working, and if we continue down the road we are currently on, we all lose.

Your idea is great, the fact that you come on here talking about old houses and how you respected each other then you start to bash them. Read your post a few times buddy, if you are trying to change the culture then dont come on here and just make fun of the people who you say are ''try hards''. Counter productive, but I do agree and I never see Alpha Sig on here at all.

Im a young alum and I support this idea. If this happens I will recruit greeks in the ASU alumni association. If the poster of this is serious, make a secret page on FB and invite other members of each fraternity and organize it. Although there are risks this can be done. Don't let an oppressive administration destroy what WE built
