I have heard multiple times that the city of tempe is going to crack down on fraternity complexes next year and they aren't going to allow fraternities to live in them. Is this true or a bunch of bs?

they say this every year. It would be illegal to tell a group of people they can't live somewhere. HOAs could ban a fraternity, but not a city.
Check out the fair housing act (google it) for reference.

I expect what we might end up seeing is ridiculous fines. They probably can't really legislate against us living there, but they can enforce what's already in place even harder, or pass something that deals more generally with parties (and then ignore it for GDI parties and only enforce it for Greeks). The thing is though that I think we could actually get something to work with the community, unlike with the school. We just have to talk with them.
