Phi Kap is pretty good

The fraternities that are known for smarts are Lambda, Sig Nu, and Phi Kappa Theta

Lambda has a high but very misleading gpa. They don’t fully initiate guys with low gpa’s so they don’t have to roster them (which helps keep their gpa up). Realistically, Lambda likely has a slightly above average gpa at best. Still a lot of smart guys and a very good fraternity, but definitely misleading.

Sig Nu has a higher gpa and a lot of smart guys as well, but they seem to care more about getting relevant than getting good grades. Their fraternity gpa slowly drops every semester and that’ll likely continue until they stop trying so hard to be better than what they are. Largely considered a poor man’s Lambda.

Phi Kappa Theta is probably the best fraternity overall in terms of grades but they definitely have a lot to be desired when it comes to the social aspect of fraternity life. They’re growing, but realistically a few years off of being a truly relevant fraternity.

All in all, the fraternity you join doesn’t have a direct effect on the grades you get. If you’re a smart kid you’ll get good grades no matter where you go. Some of the dumbest kids I’ve met have been Lambda’s and some of the smartest kids I’ve met have been Kappa Sig’s and Sig Chi’s (two notoriously dumb fraternities). Wherever you go just make sure to spend as much time on school work as possible (especially during pledging) and you should be able to balance fraternity life and school life.
