does being a legacy actually help?

APhi legacy here and I’m in another chapter it doesn’t really have an effect here like it does in other states :)

Basically it’ll guarantee that you get asked back to round 2 but after that there’s no guarantee for round 3 or 4. From then on it just depends on how well you fit in. Also I know that with the current social movement, some sororities are doing away with the whole legacy program because it can be racially discriminatory. My advice is that if you feel a connection with the sorority you’re a legacy to, then be yourself and talk about how you identify with their values or if you’ve had connections with their philanthropy before.

It depends on the individual sorority especially since many groups are doing away with the old legacy policies.

Some houses yes, some houses no. Please don’t get too caught up in that though. Every house here is great and you will 100000% regret if you don’t give them all a chance. You will be a lot happier and less confused if you stay off this website!

4 out of my 5 legacy houses dropped me after round 1. I was a legacy through my five sisters all being in a sorority at 5 different colleges. Even the legacy house of the sister who went to ASU a few years ago dropped me- so I don't think it's a thing at all anymore. I'm still really excited with my schedule though, just didn't expect it! I wouldn't go into it expecting anything
