not sure if i wanna go social

by: HopefulSpringRushee

What about the other non-social sororities? Any thoughts on them? I'm mostly thinking of like OPhiA which I know is focused on service and the multicultural ones. They don't seem to be listed on here, so I would really appreciate all opinions!

if you want to wear letters but don't want to be greek then you should not be on this site. wear asu shirts but don't join some wannabe organization that tries to emulate the real deal but takes the botherhood/sisterhood out of it. multicultural frats are just gangs with letters that look like ours

ophia at asu is just as greek as all the other sororities, and they're a part of the panhellenic council, they're just focused on service and aren't classified as a "social" sorority. it's definitely still a sisterhood and qualifies as "the real deal." do your homework, idiot.

I have a couple friends in Omega Phi Alpha and they are just as much a sorority as any other one on this site. Literally the ONLY difference is that their events don't have alcohol at them, and they don't really do socials and date parties. Their main focus is community service instead of social climbing like I can say of most of you. I am in a different panhellenic sorority, and I wish I had joined OPhiA instead. Their dues are only 150 a semester (as opposed to the 700-1000 of other sororities), and they all actually know and love eachother.

And they still drink and have fun, just not at their sorority sponsored events.

They do everything socials do, minus the alcohol when it comes to their chapter events
They leave that for separate events
Also you can be in both OPhiA and a social sorority at the same time

OPhiA is only on ASU pan and now we all know that might not be for much longer which might be for the best but I personally would like them to stay

Joining something like Ophia is a waste of money and time. You want the benefits of a real sisterhood but dont want to get the whole deal that is dumb.
