is interrogation in recruitment normal?
by: jmbI was a PNM, but I dropped today because I had one sorority that I liked and one that I didn't. I decided not to risk getting the group I didn't care for, but I have a question concerning them and recruitment in general. At this particular group, my recruiters were really aggressive in their questioning me about the other houses I was visiting and how I felt about them. Is this normal? It made me really uncomfortable and the other houses didn't do this. Don't get me wrong; the girls were nice, but it didn't feel right for me. Is it normal to be interrogated like this?

From my experience in my house, we ask pnms how they’re feeling about the chapter and if they like another house we usually are interested to know! It’s not a hostile thing at ALL, moreso we just want to know where to steer the questions!! Of course the girls likely wanted to know so they could try to persuade you to join their chapter, but the aggression could’ve been from being tired (depending on the round you were in.) Remember, even though you as a PNM are drained, these girls have been doing this for FOUR DAYS straight, working so hard to give you the best experience. I would say to give them the benefit of the doubt, but if you felt it was more personal, to reach out to your Rho Gamma.
Good luck
