sorority $$$$$

by:

I keep seeing posts asking about how expensive being in a sorority is so here you all go:
Pan dues range from $1500-$2500 a year. However sororities with less expensive dues have much less stuff included in dues that you still have to pay for (like events and clothing).
You also have stuff like social outfits which is around $200, philo costs which can be at the minimum $100, big-little which is around $400. Promo shirts which is around $200. Recruitment clothing which usually averages around $600 but can be more expensive depending on your taste. Which all together is $1500.
THAT IS $4,000 A YEAR!!!!

IF YOU CAN NOT AFFORD THIS DO NOT RUSH!!!

WE DONT WANT NEW MEMBERS WHO ARE GOING TO DROP THE SECOND THEY SEE THEIR FIRST BILL!

PLEASE DONT WASTE OUR TIME AND YOUR TIME AND MONEY RUSHING WHEN YOU CANT AFFORD THE SORORITY!!!!!

greek life isn’t for everyone

Hi I’m confused! How do sororities pay for clothes for the girls? Do they buy matching outfits for everyone

For every recruitment, promo, and event they send you a look book and you must buy from it. During formal recruitment they often will send you links to stuff to buy. Also for formal recruitment they pick out and design the shirts and you have to go buy them. If you are not dressed correctly you will be fined.

ALL CLOTHING IS PAID FOR BY THE MEMBERS!

It is all 100% out of pocket. The sorority tells you what to buy and you have to buy it.

Some chapters bill their members for philo donations or make them raise a certain amount and if they don’t raise they are billed. That’s why some chapters look like they are raising a ton of money for their philo.

Also Greek life at ASU is way cheaper than schools in the south. I have friends at schools like Arkansas and Alabama who pay anywhere from 3k-5k a year. Be thankful that dues are rarely over $2,000 a year.
