do non-affiliated fraternity members get to be alu

by: .

Basically what the title says. Do they get alumni status nationally with that fraternity when they graduate or are the off campus guys just wearing the letters but aren't actually apart of the actual national organization? I legitimately don't know and I just don't want to end up in a house where I'm not going to be able to go to alumni events with the fraternity after graduation wherever I end up.

The chapters that are off campus are still recognized by their nationals and their members will be alumni. Whether a school recognizes a chapter has nothing to do with the chapter's nationals. If they have a charter, you'll be alumni. Even if they lose their charter after you pledge, you'd get alumni status. So the only exception to this would be Theta Chi, who I think operates at ASU still but doesn't have a charter. with TKE, DKE, Sig Chi, you'd be an alum like anyone else after graduation
