thinking about rushing in fall

by: Rush

Hi, I am coming to Arizona in the fall and am thinking about rushing. I have been doin my research and it looks like Kappa Sig, DKE and Lambda Chi are pretty good. I want to go greek in the fall so I don't want to try for top houses if I won't get a bid. I am pretty average looks wise but my grades are good and I have good people skills.

Do you guys think I would be wasting my time rushing those frats?
(Just wanna know how picky they are)

Judging by this post

DKE: Probably not, they usually only bid hot/cute guys unless your really social. They also don't care that much about grades.

Kappa Sigma: Same thing as DKE except they care more for being social and less on looks. They also don't care too much for grades. Based on their spring pledge class your odds would be better than DKE.

Lambda Chi: Pretty picky, however they care a lot more about grades and might bid you to help their GPA as long as your not weird.

These are all top tier fraternities and get the cream of the crop. I would say your best bet is probably Lambda just because you have grades going for you. There's still a decent chance none of those frats would give you a bid so I would pick one of them and maybe one or two middle tier like Fiji or Pi Kapp

Don't even get his hopes up. The fraternities he listed are like the top haha, they get their picks at the best rushees. If you're asking on GreekRank months before rush and describe yourself as "average in looks" then you are wasting your time. Rush Pi Kapp you sound like a Pi Kapp..

Honestly, go with wherever you feel like you'll be happy. I came in last year with the mindset that I had to be in a certain fraternity here ... but after walk around and rush, I ended up in a different frat that I felt most comfortable around. Being on the other side too helping with recruitment, I think we have our minds set on the types of guys we want and if you dont fit the bill, you wont get a bid.

Just focus on finding a group of guys you feel comfortable around. No point in going for a frat because you heard it's good but then you don't actually enjoy chilling with the guys in it.
