letters of recommendations for sororities?

by: futurefreshman

I am going to be a freshman this upcoming fall and i am for sure set on rushing. I know lots of colleges recommend you to have letters of recommendations from alumni, but my friend who goes to ASU told me that at ASU sororities don't take your letters of recommendations or even consider it. is that true? Just so i know if i should be out getting rec letters.

I haven't even heard of anyone doing rec letters. Greek life here isn't nearly as competitive as Bama or other southern states you will be fine

My chapter uses them. It won't hurt you.

On the ASU website it even states that letters of rec are not neccessary and you don't need to have it at all

Some chapters don't but a lot do. I think it is worth it. If a chapter looks at them it will help you a lot. If they don't oh well no harm done.

I would get letters of recommendation if you can. In most chapters it gets you an invite back to second round. It also helps you stand out in a very large group. There are 1400 PNM's going through recruitment. A letter could put you on a chapters radar.
