It's happening. Their nationals and ASU Pan confirmed it

How does colonizing even work? Can anyone join?

No. they will do the exact same thing KD did last year. Normal Pan recruitment will happen like it usually does and then AOII will do recruitment a little later in the semester.

Has anyone heard anything about what is going on with this sad situation? There was a fair amount of buzz on the Minnesota thread about how AOPi National tried to take the real estate owned by that chapter. In that case the Minnesota courts upheld the ownership of the real estate by the local group. Not sure if the ruling was appealed but given the awful reputation of AOPi National my guess is that it was appealed. I am also sad that other schools continue to be duped by the AOPi National and even allow them to colonize. One of the people posting on the Minnesota site actually called the National "scum". Wonder if there is some kind of escape clause in the membership guidelines where the great ladies at CAL AOPi could reaffiliate with another national!

I doubt ASU would choose a sorority to come that had a terrible reputation; because of what happened so far with KD

A friend of mine from TN told me that the rumor down there is that the AOPi National is tied into the Dixie Mafia and their only goal is to scam money from their local chapters in fees and to steal real estate. Meanwhile the leadership of the national are driving around in expensive cars and flying private. The litigation trail of the national organization is well established. I honestly think panhel should undertake an investigation into the behavior of the national and make it IMPOSSIBLE for them ever to come here.

Can you cite your sources? I know girls in AOII at other universities and they have nothing but positive things to say. I'm not saying you're wrong, but maybe people are worried about another round of colonizing drama and you're hearing bad things to scare PNM's off

I looked up whatever you're talking about and it just seemed like people posting in jealousy sooo I doubt there's much truth to whatever they're saying @ original OP

Check out AOPi news at U. California

Nationals kicked out the entire chapter

From what I read they didn't follow a new policy from national? I really think you have beef with AOII for whatever reason. They're coming to ASU, nothing will change that. So just wish them good luck and hope they have a good chapter here.

they're confirmed for ASU, but seeing how nationals handles things, they probably won't get too good of a start. KD had strong nationals and they still stumbled, so just imagine what this will be like...

I think it'll go fine tbh. I think KD just had bad luck with recruiting girls, maybe AOII will be careful with who they recruit? who knows haha
