coming in the fall, which fraternity should i rush
by: futureASUkidIm joining ASU in the fall and have no friends going there or out there. I would like to join a mid-top frat but have no clue what is the best since that changes all the time from what i've read.

Lambda Chi Alpha is the consensus #1 fraternity among no one but Lambda, and pretty much 99% of every rushees agree. They are definitely the best at posting how selective they are and get first pick of no one. If you don't think you can compete with all those other fraternities mentioned, then Lambda would be a good consolation prize.

As a fraternity member I'm going to be honest with you. DO NOT pay attention to this whole "greek ranking" thing. It means almost nothing. Just show up to rush. Talk to guys there and see who you get along with. You aren't there to impress them and they should not be there simply to impress you. You are only going to see the very best they have to offer during rush. They'll be less nice to you after you're in.
Pick a house that you felt like you truly get along with. Don't go with reputation or what other people say. If you find a house where you mesh well with the guys go with that house.
And if you don't find any house to be that way. Don't join greek. That's not an insult or "get out" type of thing. It's honest advice. Plenty of guys join greek even though they don't fit in with the guys because they feel they're supposed to join greek. If you're worried about friends just make sure you really try and make friends the first few weeks of school with the people you'll be in orientation with. Join clubs. You don't need greek to make friends. Greek even makes a lot of people shut off of making friends outside of their house. Again I'm greek but I am willing to see that our system is not great. Do what is truly best for you.

Those houses are considered middle tier. The top tier houses are different. You mentioned mid-top frat. You don't think you have what it takes to get in a top fraternity as far as looks, personality, GPA, wealth?
