ode to greek life

I was in Greek life for a semester and this is what I learned. I am shocked how okay the lot of you are just being so basic, always following a crowd or a trend, always looking the same, doing the same things EVERY WEEKEND with the same fake people who love to be fake to your face.

You're interchangeable, they'll just find another like you anyway because there are already tons out there in the same vineyard vine shirt or Tori Burch sandals. You think you're special? You're not. You're an exact copy of the one before you.

I'm speaking about the people who joined for the status but not the relationships. The people who use everyone else to get a leg up socially, and will use people in general to get to where they want to be. I'm speaking of the people who think they are at the "top" of a pathetic heirarchy that they created, only to try and make their own meaningless lives feel a little more relevant. because no matter how pretty you are, when you look at yourself in the mirror at the end of the day, you're still not even enough for yourself.

Greek life is a tired trend where the people who are too afraid to be individuals end up staying. The people who have such little means to define themselves that they rely so deeply on a few dumb Greek letters, and without those letters, I'm sure would have nothing.
