When WW2 vets came back to college they wanted to join fraternities, but because they were older and not traditional students most fraternities turned them away. TKE didn't though, so vets would tell their buddies "If you can't go Greek, go TKE". It's not even an insult. It's more insulting to your fraternity anyway because you turned away American heroes, and we didn't
