I don't go to school here and this has nothing to do with greek life but idk how else to talk to people who go here. I'm thinking about transfering because my school just doesn't fit right. So how's the party scene at app state? Are there a lot of hippies? Is the general student body friendly?

Come visit to see... The winters can be tough if you don't like cold weather but that's really the only negative thing. App def attracts a ton of hippies even in Greek life! Lol

are there a lot of frat parties? Do people not in greek life get into parties? I go to an SEC school so here it's basically greek life or nothing. I mean i dont have a problem with it but here i don't really have stuff in common with the girls in greek life.

No it's nothing like that here. Super laid back. Lots of parties and everyone's pretty chill about who shows up.

Gonna be totally frank, the Greek presence at app is only big WITH the Greek community. Everyone else just kinda sees them and they are there and is like "oh ok". This isn't the kind of school where you have to be a part of Greek life to be someone, and Greek life isn't defined by a clear stereotype. It's pretty interesting. I'd define it as a nice melting pot all around :)
