girls: please read if you are considering recruitm

by:

Hey y'all so I think it's time to get real with you PNMs. I am in a sorority and absolutely love my sisters. Every girl involved in her sorority will tell you that. But that is the key word - involved. Sorority life can look to PNMs like an instant key to a social life and 100+ friends (which it is) BUT THAT ISN'T IT. Sorority life doesn't solely consist of parties and cute shirts and I think that is difficult for many women to see when going through recruitment. It takes a lot of time and effort to be in a sorority with recruitment practice, GPA requirements, mandatory study hours, etc.. Please be aware that you can be spending quite a few hours with sisters a week, whether you want to or not. Be aware that plans may be altered because of your sorority. I am not trying to hurt your feelings or say not to rush, but I just want you to know that sorority life isn't all a social aspect. And be cautious of what you post online because you now represent something bigger than just yourself (which can be a great thing).

I also encourage you to go into recruitment with an open mind. You may have an idea now on what sorority you like most but you don't really know yet. You may not even know 100% what is right for you until long after bid day. Go in with an open mind and remember that tiers are irrelevant. They really are. Just go with your gut. All the women you will soon meet are sweet, kind, smart, and beautiful.

Much love

PNMs listen to this it's the truth...esp the open mind. I have seen girls think they are too good for lots of chapters only to be cut after round one by the ones they just KNEW would want them. Lots of factors involved so be prepared! And be open minded for sure.
