honest opinion

If you are doing your research outside of this horrendous website (which I truly hope you are), you will find that AOPi is not a typical southern sorority. That being said, I think this is why people like to give them such a hard time on top of the fact that they are a young chapter. When I was at app, they weren't exactly welcomed with open arms (it was pretty disappointing to watch if you ask me) but they worked really hard to build themselves. They are super involved on and off campus, are extremely inclusive from what I can tell and don't exactly stick to a stereotype--which quite frankly is VERY refreshing given the image that sorority girls get constantly. It's kind of nice that they try to break away from the "everyone looks like a clone" getup.
Further, this whole "top tier, bottom tier" thing is really ridiculous. You need to just go through and meet the sisters of each organization and ignore that petty BS. They all will tell you the same thing: tiers are literally just a way for ppl to feel superior/make others feel inferior and if you think about it like that and want to be a part of ppl who encourage that...go for it. You need to meet the sisters, find where your heart draws you and go there.
