alpha phi h8

by:

I'm a legacy to Alpha Phi and wondering why all the h8? I'm not so sure I even want to go them anymore since they're apparently so bad here and it sucks because they're in my family

Just because you are a legacy doesn't mean you have to join their group. Not gonna lie... Alpha Phi is NOT good here.... however, go through recruitment and see for yourself. You may fall in love with another sorority. Start your OWN legacy.

You don't have to go them just because you're a legacy. I'm in a different sorority than my Mom was and it doesn't matter at all!

But also, do try to keep an open mind! I know it's hard if you've been on this dumb website, but these ten (or however many) comments posted on this thread are literally just ten different random people's opinions. If you meet Alpha Phi, and don't like them, then that's totally fine. But if you do love them, then go with it! Form your own opinions. That's the only way to be happy.

And this all applies to all PNMs, not just legacies.

I never post on this site but I really feel like I need to say something here. I am not an alpha phi before anyone starts saying I am. I actually had to drop my sorority for financial reasons but I really want to say that if Greek life is for you... There are no bad sororities at App and I mean this very sincerely as I was one of those who went through recruitment who thought that it was going to be the end of the world if I got a "bottom tier" chapter. Oh how naive i was. Every chapter on campus has their good and bad. Alpha Phi is a great organization with some amazing women. They got a great pledge class last year and that's really all it takes to change a chapters perception (just ask any adpi). Go through recruitment with an open mind. Stay off this website and be yourself.

A classic alpha phi move, talk themselves up and have to bash another organization at the same time. Happens all the time. Go through recruitment and you'll see for yourself is all I will say

I would say give them a fair chance and see! The recent pledge classes are who really make up the chapter so you could go in and be a positive change for them

Be open minded and Go Greek!

I went through rush last year and pretty much everything this thread says is accurate about aphi. I have a good friend that lived on my hall and she went them and did not like it or have a good experience at all. I felt really bad for her because she really wanted to be in a sorority. I actually was at a frat party and saw one of them try and fight another girl. It is true what you hear - its like the very mean girls you wanted to leave behind in high school. I do however like several of the girls I have met and as far as I can tell - they cope with it by not being very involved if they ended up staying. Even though some say last years pc was good, unfortunately there were some not so good people in it also which hurts group as a whole. They have a record of outright bashing (on campus and on this site) of other sororities they are threatened by. I can honestly say I have never really heard of other groups here doing that - we are all pretty chill and like one another and don't consider each other better than others - good luck. I also am in a diff sorority than I was a leg to and its nbd.

If we were so bad, we wouldn't have won sorority of the row two years consecutively, highest gpa for 5 semester straight, gotten a great pledge class last year, had their girls win numerous awards last year, etc. I'm in alpha phi and absolutely love it. I'm proud to be in this chapter and am so glad that I have had this opportunity to meet some of my closest friends. I'm in the newest pledge class and can honestly tell you that we are so close it's ridiculous. I know I could depend on any of them whenever I needed them. It's sad that other chapters talk about how "mean" we are while they are the ones making mean comments. My best advice to whoever wrote this post is just to go through recruitment with an open mind and ignore this site because anyone that understand how this website works would tell you that its just other chapters saying mean things about other chapters.

So I have nothing wrong with what you posted except...getting sorority of the year two consecutive years means nothing. There have been other sororities on this campus, who have gotten sorority of the year two years in a row. Also, did you get sorority of the year last year? I didn't think so. Like countless other posts have mentioned, one pledge class can totally turn around a sorority. Just want to make that clear.

Really, the entire goal of greek life is to build up other chapters, not tear them down. Not all sororities have won that award so I understand where the person who posted it was coming from when she wrote that. They may not have won it last year, but they did the two previous years. It is a big deal to win that award so it's something they should be proud off. Stop trying to tear another group down and worry about your own. It's honestly really sad that you have nothing better to do then to try to pick a reply post apart and tear down a chapter in the PHC community.

This is the sorority you should join if you want your own sister to sleep with your boyfriend behind your back
