The "ranks" that people post pretty much tell you how hard it is to get a bid.
Just be yourself, and you'll find your home...trust the system.

It changes from year to year. A sorority picks you as much as you pick them...Don't act like you're too good for any chapter. You find your home if you have an open mind. I didn't end up in my first choice but I'm so happy where I'm at and truly think it was the right home for me.

Here's my prediction this fall based on last year/general feeling on campus-

KD/ADPi (hardest)
APhi/SK
Chi O
ZTA/Phi Mu
DZ
AGD
AOPi

Adpi and KD are the hardest to get into. If you receive a bid from them its an honor.

and kd same way - all groups everywhere and every campus have some they have to take like legacies etc EVERY WHERE EVERY SCHOOL but overall it is the hardest at App to get a bid from adpi and kd js the truth... ask anyone who has been through rush here. And every sorority at every school has the same prob its not like people know what you know about who you went to hs with - that's the same everywhere I have friends dealing with the same thing at other schools its just the way it is...

that said go in with open mind and have fun you'll be fine!

personally i think you can separate the sororities into groups based on how hard it is to get a bid

in order from hardest to easiest:
1: kd/adpi
-most difficult and very well liked among PMNs-
2: chi o/sk/alpha phi
-closely compete with group 1 for girls, still have a strict criteria and a "type"-
3: zta/dz/phi mu
-fairly easy as long as you're nice/cute/sociable-
4: aopi/agd
-give bids to nearly anyone, you have to screw up to not get a bid-

that being said - don't take a bid from a sorority just because they're more selective. that doesn't make them a better fit for you!! i also know a girl who got a bid from a REALLY good sorority but was dropped by literally everyone else. i also know a girl who went to a top tier AND a low tier on pref night because she loved them both. :)

AGD hasn't had formal recruitment yet so we will have to wait to see how they do. It will either be really good or really bad....

I disagree with just the #1 section--although chi o is not at the same level with kd and a dpi, they are just as sought after during recruitment. They drop girls like crazy; I've seen it both as a pnm and as a rho.

sigma kappa also does super well during recruitment, but don't usually end up with super good girls.

sigma kappa does okay... until they promise everyone bids and end up with leftovers...

yo hi it doesn't actually matter who gives out more bids, or who is more selective. honestly all the organizations on campus are great and as long as you are happy, everyone is happy.

If you're pretty, have good grades and a decent personality you will get into a middle tier/higher tier chapter...
