rushing as a juinor

so would going through sorority recruitment as a junior be difficult? Would it be hard to get a bid, especially from the more competitive, top tier sororities??

Tbh just to keep it real with you, it will be harder for a junior to get a bid from more competitive sororities like the top tiers like adpi, sigma kappa, kappa delta and chi omega. But that doesn't mean it's impossible. Typical sororities do want girls who can be in it 3 or 4 years. But I know people and juniors who have gotten in so if you want to join one then do go through and see what happens. If they drop you, they weren't worth your time anyways!!!

Regardless of the sorority, it may be tough to rush as a junior. There are quotas that need to be met and majority of sororities want freshmen and even sophomores because they'll devote the most time to the sorority compared to a junior. Even the new member period takes a semester or a little over a semester.

I rushed as a junior and it was tough. All the "top tier" organizations dropped me after the first round. I still found my home and loved my two years in but keep in mind that as a junior you'll also be two years older than most others in your pledge class. And if you live off campus that's another negative because everyone else in your PC will live on campus and will constantly be getting lunch or dinner or hanging out in each other's dorms. It's not impossible to be friends with them but it's harder. You don't fit in with them in certain aspects but you also don't fit in with the girls your age because they've already been in your chapter for a year or two and have found their cliques within their PC and fams.
