Albion College - AC Greek Life Reviews

Albions greek life sucks. They have a large greek population.... 50% out of 1.5k students, and this is the only form of social life really, but it doesn't compare to big schools. And the houses suck. I hate living in house because the house doesn't look as luxurious as a frat house should. It looks like any old residence hall.

Honestly, people love to act like small college greek life is "bad" but I can promise you greek life here is huge and very philanthropy focused as a whole. Only thing I dislike is that the sorority girls don't live in their houses, but I do think the greek life is amazing regardless of that! I would rush, but meh I'm not sure since I'll be a junior next year.

I would say that Albion's greek life is fantastic! Only thing is the conflicts between the school and the frats right now (the school is basically firing their cooks and putting them on meal plans for whatever reason) and also I wish the sororities got to live in their houses as well. Greek life is a huge part of campus though and better than the average school's greek life.

I believe I heard someone say that the campus owns all the frat houses yet they don't seem to anything to them. It looks as though the campus says "hey we own you and we can make you listen to us and make you do what we want, but you have to clean the outside of the house, it's not our job." I feel like all the campus does is 1. Not promote Greek life even though its a huge source of income for the college and 2. Shut down all good parties for no reason other than "Risk Management." Campus Safety is a joke and the only time they feel important is when they shut down parties at midnight on a Friday or Saturday night. There is nothing to do in Albion so why not let kids be kids. Invest a little more time and effort into greek life, especially fraternity houses appearances and social life and maybe the campus will be a little more happy and not get the bad rep that it is.
