Don’t be afraid! The chapters are trying to make the virtual transition as seamless as possible. And don’t worry about which houses are considered “top” by Greek rank. Take everything here with a grain of salt. People often use this platform to bash in each other, dish out tea, and etc. it only shows the bad and usually not the good, and some frats and srats don’t even worry about ranking themselves on here. I suggest going in with an open mind and focusing on the convos you have and the information you learn directly from the chapters you speak to and not what you see on Greek rank. Most of the time, not everything is shown in clear light, and it’s mostly guys and girls wanting to get back at a chapter that hurt them by not giving them a bid, or someone in that chapter that hurt them directly. Most of the houses who are considered “top” are based on superficial things like looks or party attendance by frat members who think the girls are hot. Or based on a chapter self ranking more than others. And those sororities are in fact amazing in their own ways - NOT JUST ON LOOKS. If you trust the process and don’t focus on being someone of status within Greek life and really focusing on being yourself and where you make the best connections, you’ll find your home! (Whether that is in the “top houses” or somewhere else) don’t let greek rank determine where you go because you want to be somewhere people assume as the best. Think about which women will be your mentors, friends, role models, and help you grow as a person! It’s based on what you experience and not on the opinions here often made by angry people. If you keep your head up, you’ll be alright. All of the chapters here have great women - and they shouldn’t be compared to each other because every one of them is different, unique, and has special values and history. They each serve as a home for their members. The women here love their sisters - in every sorority. They love their philanthropies and service and sisterhood. Basing the status of a sorority on looks alone is superficial, and every one of UH’s sorority women is a strong, beautiful woman in her own way too! From the “top” to the “bottom”, they are all special in their own ways. All of the sororities are more than the fraternity men who give them a ranking based on looks. Every organization will have issues of some kind, but the actions of a few can’t define the rest of the women in an organization. And At the end of the day, it is your decision and no one else’s! Don’t let other people influence where YOU feel you belong.
