why are the bottom houses the bottom houses

They’re considered bottom because they don’t fit the stereotypical sorority girl brand and have actual genuine people. Let’s be honest chi o and phi mu are some of the least problematic chapters on campus that mind their business

Sigma kappa nationally is good. But. Go look at the sigma kappa page and through discussions. SK has been ranked last for average gpa twice. Has dues that are a lot higher. But don’t do as much as other chapters. They also have a bad reputation among fraternities for cause drama. They aren’t really a sister hood as much as they are a bunch of cliques put together. They have a lot of girls drop. And girls don’t want to be in their sorority for a reason. Phi mu and chi o aren’t traditional sororities. But UH isn’t a Greek school so that’s part of that

I hope any PNMs read this, please. I would take everything you read on this site with a grain of salt. You can tell the vibes of the chapters from their instas and such and the chapters that tend to fall into the "bottom house" category are simply not filled with cookie-cutter sorority girls. Based on what you're looking for in a chapter, you might want to be surrounded with those stereotypical sorority girls, or want a more diverse group of sisters. None of the chapters are terrible, they just vary in cost, and the type of girls who make them up. Every chapter has drama, gossip, nice girls, and not so nice ones. When you go through recruitment you'll really see how much the chapters vary, and naturally, you'll gravitate towards one or two of them over the others. Which is normal, that's the point of recruitment!! And if you gravitate towards a bottom house, cool! A top house? Cool! The whole point is to find sisters who like you for you! Try not to think much about rankings when going through recruitment, I got caught up doing that and it made the experience less fun. Btw, I'm in one of the other chapters you didn't list as a bottom house, and I can definitely say that chapters do like to bash each other on here even though it's a waste of time.
