junior transfer?

by: DukeGirl

So after finishing my final semester in CC (Nova), I plan on transferring to JMU. I also plan on rushing during formal recruitment, and I was wondering how often junior transfers get bids? I have a really high GPA (3.6), but I'm worried I won't get a bid because I'm a transfer or a junior. :( Realistically, what are my chances of getting a bid from a sorority? Thanks

Not a lot of sororities take juniors from what I know. But I had a friend in your same situation and she got into and great sorority. Your GPA is high so that is a really good thing. I wouldnt be so stressed over it, you get into the sorority you were mean to get into

Thank you for the reply. I won't be going into rush with any certain sorority in mind, just hoping I can at least get into one. Any of them would be great to me, I would just be excited to be apart of Greek life!

And that is the best way to go into it! Great mindset :)

Honestly I think your GPA is so high it kinda cancels out the junior factor... The only thing to consider is your pledge class is going to be a good two years behind/under you.

Wow, really? Looks like all that studying paid off haha! I'm not too concerned with the age difference in my pledge class, mainly because I feel like I get along really well with people, even those a few years younger than me. My only worry is will my junior status not allow me to get a big or little? That's one of the aspects of Greek life I am most excited about!

No you can still get a big and little! Your big just might be in your grade haha. The ones who rushed as sophomores could take you as their little :) or you could even just get one that's younger than you and have a "big that is little" haha
