sorority recruitment

I don't understand how the process goes. I had several friends who rushed, who are beautiful, unique and fun. They have the best personalities but they only got into gamma phi or DG. I see the new pledge classes, & I notice the girls who joined the top sororities are not that great to begin with. I am literally so confused.
