Just want to tell everyone who is thinking about rushing a frat that having a charter or not should not determine whether or not you should join!!! There are pros and cons to having or not having a charter! Frats without charters tend to have more freedom and no money to nationals means more money to social!! Just find the right guys you fit in with the best don't worry about their charter or not!

This is completely false. They can compete in sorority philanthropy events and still host their own it just might not get a public as let's say piketoberfest. Unchartered also mix with almost all sororities except like phi mu which if I remember correctly isn't allowed to have mixers at all. They can also play in intermurals as well. Over all there is no difference on chartered or unchartered other than having to worry about fsl and oh no you can't wear stitched letters boo hoo (if you're pledging a frat just for a shirt then you're not pledging for the right reasons, remember it's all about brotherhood and cohesiveness)

The only reason this is posted is cause no one wants to rush these frats. Like Kappa Sig was a great frat but now since they're underground or whatever you call it they aren't good. Like they had I think 2 pledges last year. No hate to them but you don't see frats with charters trying to convince people to rush.

I don't know about the prediction of this post, but the frustration is completely justified. FSL doesn't look out for the members of all the fraternities on campus, and much like nationals, they are ready to throw people under the bus when any sort of rumor comes out. There are a lot of chapters fed up with the governing body at JMU.

So overall this post relates to ks, dx(pbx) and the possible sx. Kappa sig is fading but fading respectfully they could have gotten more pledges this year if they had lower their standards which they didn't they were true to themselves. Delta chi (pi beta chi) is eventually going to fade but not as much as everyone thinks. They got ka's old main house which is a great party house and they can re apply for a charter in a few years so the incoming pledge class could have a charter behind them if they do follow through with that. Sigma chi is known for being very selective during rush and I'm sure they will continue that which may make them end up as ks. But overall Rush dx and sx they're still great upper tier frats(not top so don't say I'm self ranking cause I'm not even in one)

sororities are really careful about mixing with underground frats though because you can get in a lot of trouble and honestly it's just not worth it. Also why would you wanna pay dues just to drink, like atleast when your in a chartered frat you get the connections and can put it on a resume.
