tier
by: pnmI don't really get the whole tier system..like what is it based on?

Basically it's based on all aspects of greek life; sisterhood/brotherhood, attractiveness, competitiveness, philanthropy and social life.
I know this tends to make people angry because they say greek life shouldn't be based on "parties" or "looks" but that's just the way it goes. I left out gpa because when most freshman rush, they don't have a gpa yet so not every sorority/frat has ALL smart people.

the tier system at jmu is not as rigid as you see on this website, like there are good sororities and ehh sororities, good for most people is sk,sss, ddd, aphi, and asa(popular opinion on them is ehh though), and ehh sororities are theta, ast, phi mu, dg, adpi, and gphi. Good sororities are typically more social and just have more of a presence on campus and ehh sororities are more laid back. There are really good looking people in every sorority so i wouldn't say is solely based on looks

I mean yeah basically... It's human nature. We tend to revolve around confident and attractive people.
