If you choose to follow others opinions blindly, you'll miss the beauty of the process. Why would you want to be in an organization that you don't fit in with? Though there are rankings, there are definite personality differences among the 12 chapters here at JMU. And that's beautiful! Go into rush optimistic and open minded. Had I not, and chosen the other sorority I had had in mind, I likely wouldn't have made as good of friends and memories as I have..not because they weren't strong, smart, and awesome women, but they didn't fit my mold. Find your match and disregard what other people say..because at the end of the day, it's your college experience
