The best advice to give to someone looking to rush is to go around to multiple frats and think can you see yourself being friends with these guys. The best thing you can do is to find a happy medium between social scene and quality brotherhood +(pledging). Briefly take into account rankings.

No point in pledging for a semester for a fraternity whose social scene suck. But even worst is pledging and joining a fraternity just for the social scene, because if you can't see yourselves around those dudes 24/7 you're going to get less out of it. Or you will finish your time at jmu and realize you weren't true to yourself, and you became someone you really are not. That is the most embarrassing thing possible.
