Would be interesting to see this type of breakdown from current perspectives. This is from 2020…
2020 JMU sorority reputations
ASA- gorgeous but fake/ mean. only goes to pike.
SK- all Jersey girls who like to party. Only goes to KA. seem to have a fake sisterhood.
(People join SK and ASA for girls to party w, not to find their best friends)
TRI DELT- all gorgeous. Seem to be diverse and have a great sisterhood. sig nu groupies. They know how to party but are really stuck up and snotty
ZTA- chill and laid back. the least talked about from the top 6. there’s never any drama- One of the best sisterhoods out of the top 6. Only goes to dsig.
TRI SIG- such cool girls. kind of irrelevant bc they don’t hang out with the top frats. nice girls but heard they have a lot of drama behind the scenes
APHI- fake.

THETA- still salty they were dropped from the top 6 and it shows. Constantly on Greek rank to convine people they are better than they are
AST- funny and genuine girls. definitely not top but have a great sisterhood and know how to have fun.
PHI SIG- nice girls. sad you don’t hear about them too much but they seem to have a great sisterhood!
ADPI- love. Such great girls who genuinely care about everyone- not just the girls in their sorority.
GPHI and DG- idk

I’m an incoming freshman looking for info on what the sororities are like now. Found the 2020 by googling JMU sorority reputations. Is Zeta bad?

the top is asa and sk tridelt aphi. Below them are middle and bottom sororities, zta is middle

Right, thanks, but I’ve seen the rankings. I reposted the 2020 thing because it’s not a ranking, but more info about what each chapter is like. I’’m looking for some insight into what the girls are like prior to fall rush.

It’s old, reposted from 2020 (not originally my post) just as an example of the more info I’m interested in, as opposed to just basic rankings.
Definitely no one is irrelevant. I’m simply interested in an idea of what each chapter is like.

your top is ASA and SK. these girls are sweet and fun to be around. they mix with the top fraternities. they aren’t considered mean anymore and I don’t think their sisterhood is fake. great girls who get hate bc of the stupid sorority rankings which put them as top.
TriDelt and Aphi are next and they are very similar to ASA and SK. mostly mix with top frats. no groupies. Aphi has taken some girls that surprised me this year so I’m not sure how they will continue to stay high in the rankings. very much party sororities.
next is Zeta and TriSig. Zeta is not like the Zetas at big SEC schools. these girls are nice and mix with mostly mid tier frats. everyone likes Zeta no bad things to say about them.
Theta is probably next. quieter girls who don’t party as much. most make good grades. great sisterhood. solid sorority. mix with mid frats.

TriSig and phi mu both have a mix of girls but seem to be pretty into their philanthropies, have some girls that party and mostly mix with mid frats
AST has one of the oldest chapters on campus so they have a lot of great alum and it’s one of the biggest AST chapters in the country, also get a variety of girls but are super fun and have great leadership opportunities

Theta a bit above Tri sig & Phi Mu, but the three are pretty similar.
Tri delt and Aphi definitely below ASA & SK, particularly Aphi.
I wouldn’t consider Aphi too anymore, more Upper mid.

For SK:
Through Spring 2025, Restriction of Privilege - social restriction – The chapter will be restricted to participating in and hosting events that are dry only (No Alcohol)

All the sororities have great girls, and you’ll really get to know the personality of each chapter during recruitment. Just trust your gut & don’t worry so much about rankings. It’s almost impossible, particularly on here, to get an unbiased look at the chapters at JMU. Some things you’ll hear are legitimate and others are just random people trying to stir up drama.
