I rushed as a sophomore last year. GPA is very important. Some houses will drop you based on year. Still go through with recruitment though. I’m so happy in my sorority and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. But it might not be the easiest process. A lot of sophomores get dropped after open house.

Is gpa the only reason u would get dropped bc ur a sophomore? Or is it just biased bc you're a soph?

gpa is definitely a big factor but getting a bid as a freshmen is way easier because sororities know they are getting 4 years with those girls. If you’re a sophomore it helps to be involved or to know people in chapters but it’s not necessary

It definitely depends on the girl but if you’re joining as a sophomore they want to know that you’ll make the most of those 3 years and get involved/have good grades/just be an asset in general. Some girls rush freshmen and sophomore year and do way better as sophomores but houses definitely want more freshmen

Yes, top sororities will take very few sophomores so be prepared
