it’s not about what you’re in it’s about who you know

Let’s be real. A lot of girls go through recruitment because that’s how they think they’ll become popular in college. They go through recruitment, immediately trying to drop sororities that they think won’t give them the “extra edge” when it comes to talking to guys, getting to know where the parties are, whatever the deal may be. Here is a reality check. Say you get that top sorority bid—it will not matter unless you’re in the in crowd even within your own sorority. Fact of the matter is, there are only about 10 girls in each top sorority who are actually relevant, who the guys put into group messages, who they go on vacations with—and if you’re not one of them, you’ll feel like an outcast in your own sorority.
Going to college doesn’t mean you can completely reinvent yourself. People see right through that.
