it’s not about what you’re in it’s about who you know

Let’s be real. A lot of girls go through recruitment because that’s how they think they’ll become popular in college. They go through recruitment, immediately trying to drop sororities that they think won’t give them the “extra edge” when it comes to talking to guys, getting to know where the parties are, whatever the deal may be. Here is a reality check. Say you get that top sorority bid—it will not matter unless you’re in the in crowd even within your own sorority. Fact of the matter is, there are only about 10 girls in each top sorority who are actually relevant, who the guys put into group messages, who they go on vacations with—and if you’re not one of them, you’ll feel like an outcast in your own sorority.
Going to college doesn’t mean you can completely reinvent yourself. People see right through that.

Big bump, make friends that are cool. Ur org is really only a boost into Greek social life and how u ride the wave is up to u. Rising senior in an (admittedly falling) mid tier that has friends from across diff orgs and it’s been a million times better than it was only going out with girls from my PC or my big. U will ACTUALLY meet the guys & groupies & get to know people instead of being the weirdo in the corner holding ur beatbox and telling everyone you “meet for the first time” (even though you met them 3 weeks ago) that you’re in ___. Id rather be the most relevant girl in my org than the black sheep of my sorority that Deadass thinks the freshman packed parties she goes to are fun. It doesn’t matter what org ur in (or not in) to get into the in group.

same goes to people not in sororities/frats...cool people are cool people and there are so many people not in greek life more popular than girls in greek life like girls on dance team or lacrosse or cheer
