let me clear this up for you all. first of all no one should take these rankings seriously (hint: the top 2 on this website in reality suck at jmu). second is that you cant judge a frat based on how they dress. sure the typical frat guy wears a button up shirt, khaki shorts, and sperrys. however, virginia isn't necessarilly that south if you idiots havent noticed. washingon dc is less than 2 hours away from jmu so stop acting like this is alabama. in fact va is right in the middle between the north and south which explains why jmu greek life isn't that "fratty" at all. if you want "fratty" go to alabama and stop complaining.

Virginia is South, is the home of the Confederacy, and JMU is in fact a southern school. However, it has been infiltrated with students from NJ and Maryland. Believe it or not Northern VA still has some south in her, believe me, I live there and I am in no way "northern". Yes NOVA is slowly losing it's southern pride, but there are still those there that live with it's traditions. VA is very much southern and JMU is the laughing stock in VA because of it's Greek system. Yes, you have CNU and GMU, but those schools are so small, when you take JMU and compare it to Washington Lee, UVA, VT, it's kind of embarrassing. But, that's just my two cents

KA is a joke to what the fraternity really means. Do these guys even know to face the South when "Dixie" is playing? Do these guys know what "Dixie" is? I thought KA were suppose to be the southern gentlemen, seems like a bunch of guidos to me. 3rd tier in my opinion.

Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, and Delaware never seceded. They were slave states and sent troops to fight for the South, but they never seceded. Delaware was largely Unionist, Maryland tried to secede but Lincoln arrested the state legislators so they couldn't vote, suspended the Writ of Habeus Corpus, and put the entire state under martial law. Kentucky was going to secede, but Southern forces entered the state after it declared neutrality, and many saw it as an invasion. Missouri's governor tried to secede, but he and his legislature were largely exiled to Arkansas by the presence of federal troops. Stop arguing. Read a book.

You morons saying JMU isn't south are partially correct, if you look back 5 years.... Go any further than that, JMU was a southern school. And to the guy saying NOVA isn't south. I dare you to go to country parts of Manassas and tell me they aren't still tied to their southern roots. I don't doubt that there are still southerners in NOVA
